Randolph Garner, The Scooter Guru, has been a scooter enthusiast for more than four decades. He is widely known as an author, public speaker, and founder of The Vespa Clubs of America. Most days, you can find him kicked back in his easy chair at the worldwide headquarters of Garner's Classic Scooters in Cleburne, TX.

Dear Scooter Friend,

Today, we find many new scooter offerings from China. Historically the quality from China has been suspect with questionable build quality; poor electrics and poor engines. Many great strides have been made in China in the past few years. Also, there are many manufactures of scooters in China. Their quality ranges from poor to very good.

I have been fortunate to work with GS Motorworks here in Frisco, TX. They have done extensive research with the Chinese scooters. I have spent considerable time in the past year working with them. I have put 1000 miles on the Wasp LX. During this time I have tried to put it through every difficulty possible. It has performed perfectly. Recently, I saw one on the road with 23,000 miles on it.

This has made me change my mind on select Chinese scooters. It is with these thoughts in mind that I am proud to offer these two scooters to my valued customers. You will indeed see scooters that look similar to these all over the market however let me assure you that all of these scooters are not created equal.

The Wasp LX and the Sinclair LX are value priced. The little Sinclair is very retro and just fun to ride around town. No, it is not for the 70 mph scooter ride. An errand to the store however is exactly what it is designed for. This includes a remote start… Yes -remote start, electric start and even kick start. You also get the Anti-theft device all for well around $1500. No, it is not a 50cc but a 150cc scooter. This is value. I like the term "affordability with value".
